As a Performer

Kelly was the winner of the 2022 UNSW Concerto Competition, making her concerto debut as the soloist in Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor under the baton of Steven Hillinger with the UNSW Symphony Orchestra at the Sir John Clancy Auditorium. Hailed as "One of the greatest piano concertos ever," the work has long been a cornerstone of the concert pianist's repertoire. Kelly’s performance was highly anticipated and praised for its virtuosity, rich colours, and sensitivity. Her interviews with the Music Performance Department and CutCommon Magazine were published in the same year.

In 2024, Kelly performed George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the Sydney Youth Orchestra, conducted by Steve Williams, at the White Bay Power Station. The concert drew over 1,000 attendees and received widespread acclaim for Kelly’s dynamic and captivating performance. Additionally, she had the privilege of working with the principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic.

As a dedicated chamber musician, Kelly has performed a diverse range of repertoire, including César Franck's Cello Sonata in A Major, Brahms' Violin Sonata No. 2, Beethoven's Spring Sonata, and Mendelssohn's Cello Sonata No. 2. She has appeared at several of Sydney’s most historic venues, collaborating with some of the city’s finest chamber musicians. In 2022, she was invited as a guest artist to perform Respighi’s Pines of Rome with the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra at Verbrugghen Hall. She has recently performed Stravinsky ‘s Petrushka with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Orchestra.

Kelly is currently expanding her solo repertoire with works by Liszt and Shostakovich, further showcasing her versatility and artistry.

 AS AN EDUCATOR

Kelly has been teaching piano since 2015, both at her own studio and some of Sydney's leading music schools. She has guided over 500 students, many of whom have achieved the highest grades through the Australian Music Examinations Board.

Kelly is also a fully qualified high school music teacher. She has taught music classes at Beverly Hills Girls High School, Randwick Girls High School, and Punchbowl Boys High School. Currently, she serves as the principal piano teacher at Marist Catholic College North Shore.

Her experience in classroom teaching has given her valuable insights into student learning and behavior, enriching her approach as a music educator. Kelly has a deep understanding of educational psychology and incorporates mindfulness and meditation techniques into her teaching practice.
